Detailed Itinerary

Arrival Day: Welcome to Senaru

Upon your arrival at Lombok International Airport, Bangsal Harbor, Senggigi, or any other major location in Lombok, the Rudy Trekker team will pick you up and transfer you to our headquarters in Senaru.
  • Check into your comfortable pre-trek accommodation.
  • Meet your experienced mountain guide for a thorough briefing on the route, safety procedures, and equipment check.
  • Enjoy the evening resting or exploring the nearby Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls before your big adventure!

Day 1: Senaru Village to Senaru Crater Rim

  • Walking Duration: 7 – 8 hours
  • Distance: ~9 km
  • Elevation Gain: 2,040 m (601 m to 2,641 m)
After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, we will walk to the Rinjani Trekking Centre (RTC) in Senaru to register. Your trek begins with a gentle ascent through thick, tropical rainforest. This shaded canopy protects you from the sun and is home to diverse wildlife, including the rare black ebony leaf monkey and long-tailed macaques.
We will pass Pos 1 (Extra) and Pos 2 (Montong Satas – 1,500 m), where we will stop for a delicious, freshly cooked hot lunch and a well-deserved rest.
After lunch, the trek continues to Pos 3 (Mondokan Lokak – 2,000 m). From here, the trail becomes steeper and the forest begins to thin out into grassy meadows. After a final 2-hour push, you will reach your spectacular destination: the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m).
Our porters will have your campsite ready. You will have a front-row seat to one of Indonesia’s best sunsets, with sweeping views down into the caldera to see Segara Anak Lake and the smoking cone of Mount Baru Jari. On a clear day, you can even see the Gili Islands and Mount Agung in Bali. Enjoy a warm dinner under the stars before sleeping.

Day 2: Senaru Crater Rim to Senaru Village

  • Walking Duration: 5 – 6 hours
  • Distance: ~9 km
  • Elevation Loss: -2,040 m (2,641 m back to 601 m)
Wake up early to catch a glorious sunrise over the Mount Rinjani summit from your campsite. After taking in the morning views and enjoying a large, freshly prepared breakfast and hot coffee, we will pack up camp and begin our descent.
We will return to Senaru Village using the same trail. The descent is much faster, taking about 5 to 6 hours. We will stop at Pos 2 or Pos 1 for a lunch break along the way.
You will arrive back at the Rudy Trekker office in Senaru around 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. From there, our private transport will be waiting to transfer you to your next destination in Lombok (such as the Gili Islands, Senggigi, or the airport).
